The survey is aimed to analyse from a socio-economic perspective why there has been a drop in the supply of cinemas in the past decade, analyse whether an increase in the supply of cinemas or screens would induce the demand for movie-going and explore the overriding factors determine the decision on whether to watch a film in a theatre setting rather than through other means. A total of 1 500 face-to-face household interviews were successfully enumerated, representing a response rate of 75.7%.
